Spray carnations

In 1946, Hilverda’s greenhouses were full of many different carnation varieties imported from the United States.
Due to the enormous demand for carnation cuttings, Hilverda began propagating them in 1948. In 1955, the company was the first carnation propagating company to work with the Netherlands Inspection Service for Ornamental Plants (NAKS) on a programme to produce virus-free carnation cuttings. Today, many millions of carnation cuttings for more than 200 varieties are being purchased throughout the world.
